About the SJNC

The Saint John Multicultural Newcomers Resource Centre Inc., commonly known as The Saint John Newcomers Centre (SJNC), is a non-profitnon-political, and non-religious organization. Founded in 2009, the purpose of the SJNC is to improve the cultural, social, and economic well-being of citizens and newcomers of all backgrounds to Greater Saint John and to promote equality for all cultural groups.

Objectives of the SJNC

The objectives of the SJNC are:

  • To collaborate between service providers and volunteer-run organizations serving the communities of the Greater Saint John area to further interests of newcomers.
  • To celebrate multiculturalism within our region.
  • To promote equality for all ethno-cultural groups.
  • To serve as a central location where all citizens and newcomers to our region can gain access to community services and information.
  • To foster a welcoming and supportive environment.

About the SJNC

Land Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that the Saint John Newcomers Centre stands on unsurrendered and unceded traditional Wolastoqey (WOOL-US-TOOK-WAY) land. The lands of Wabanaki (WAH-BAH-NAH-KEE) people are recognized in a series of Peace and Friendship Treaties to establish an ongoing relationship of peace, friendship, and mutual respect between equal nations.
