Volunteer with the Saint John Taekwondo

We are happy to share that the Saint John Newcomers Centre is collaborating with Saint John Taekwondo for their 1st Annual Showdown!
This partnership brings together community spirit and sport to create an exciting and inclusive event for everyone involved.

Saint John Taekwondo is looking for 50 energetic volunteers to be part of an exciting martial arts tournament bringing together athletes from across the Maritimes!

📅 Date: May 9, 2026
⏰ Event Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
📍 Location: Lord Beaverbrook Arena

⏱ Volunteer Shifts

To keep things running smoothly, volunteers can sign up for one of the following shifts:

• Shift 1: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Shift 2: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

🔥 About the Event

This high-energy Taekwondo tournament will feature athletes of all levels competing in:

• Sparring matches
• Poomsae (forms) demonstrations

It’s a full day of action, discipline, and community spirit!

👥 Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who are:

• Energetic and quick on their feet
• Reliable and responsive
• Strong in people management and communication
• Interested in sports and event coordination

📸 Bonus: Experience with DSLR cameras is an asset (equipment provided)

🛠 Volunteer Roles Include:

• Guest seating coordination
• Medal distribution (across 4 rings)
• Athlete check-in and match readiness
• Gear management
• Match tracking and coordination
• Event photography
• Parking lot coordination and traffic guidance
