Saint John Newcomers Centre Celebrates Grand Opening of Community Hub with Premier Susan Holt

Saint John, NB — The Saint John Newcomers Centre (SJNC) is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the SJNC Community Hub, a modern, welcoming space in the heart of Uptown Saint John designed to bring newcomers, community organizations, and local partners together under one roof. The Grand Opening will include the official unveiling of the Hub by the Premier of New Brunswick, Susan Holt, on February 24, 2026 at 4 PM at 75 Prince William Street, Suite 100, Saint John, NB.

The SJNC Community Hub has been created as a vibrant gathering place for workshops, training sessions, cultural celebrations, youth programs, and community events of all sizes. With flexible rooms, accessible meeting spaces, and modern amenities, the Hub is designed to support collaboration, innovation, and a strong sense of belonging for newcomers and long-time residents alike.

“The SJNC Community Hub is a powerful example of how welcoming spaces can strengthen our communities and our province,” said Premier Susan Holt. “By connecting people, ideas, and opportunities in one place, this Hub will help newcomers build their lives here and contribute to New Brunswick’s growth for years to come.”

Mohamed Bagha, Managing Director of the Saint John Newcomers Centre, highlighted the importance of the Hub as a shared community asset. “The Community Hub is more than just a physical space; it is a home for connection, collaboration, and possibility,” said Bagha. “Here, newcomers will find support, partners will find a place to co-create programs, and the wider community will find a welcoming venue where everyone can feel that they truly belong.”

Equipped with meeting and board rooms, open event areas, Wi‑Fi, audio-visual equipment, and reception support, the SJNC Community Hub will host a wide range of activities, from information sessions and pre-employment workshops to cultural events and social gatherings. The Hub will also serve as a platform for local partners, employers, and community organizations to engage directly with newcomers and co-design initiatives that respond to community needs.

The Grand Opening event will feature remarks from Premier Susan Holt, SJNC leadership, and community partners, along with guided tours of the space and opportunities to learn more about upcoming programs and partnership opportunities at the Hub. Members of the media, community organizations, ethnocultural groups, and the public are warmly invited to attend.
