Francophone Support Programs

Francophone summer camp: Our french summer camp is open to youth between the ages of 5 and 13 years old. They are clients of the Saint John Newcomers Centre, and are attending Samuel-de-Champlain School. The main goal is to offer a safe, collaborative, and fun francophone environment for children who need to practice their french over the summer vacation. The summer camp team includes one co-ordinator and six monitors who ensure a positive, fun, friendly, and respectful flow of day-to-dayactivities.

National Francophone Immigration Week:  (Semaine Nationale de L’Immigration Francophone)  Each year in November, we celebrate National Francophone Immigration Week. We work on creative projects with Francophone newcomer families at Samuel de Champlain School. We show French films to the local community, either online or in person.  We also collect and display recipes on social media and create written materials distributed to Francophone families at the school.

French Camp (March Break):  A week-long camp held for kids of newcomer families, who are clients of the Saint John Newcomers Centre attending Samuel-de-Champlain School. It is an opportunity for children betrween the ages of 5-13 to practice their French and enjoy week long activities that are held in a fun, safe environment. The camp is run by a co-ordinator and several monitors.
